Holiday

Well, we went up to Perham Friday morning for family Christmas. We hung out with my sisters & mom playing games & such. It was a lot of fun!

Saturday we went "snowman hunting" by driving around Perham while Angela took pics; I'll post some one of these days. We stopped at Lakes to have dinner with the WHOLE family which was nice. Albert & Jen had returned Friday night from Mexico so they were back. Jeff & his kids Tayden & Tucker were there too. Dang nice kids :)

While Grace took a nap, Tony, Ben, & myself went out to my grandparents' house. Tony & Ben fixed grandpa's clock thing then grandpa showed us his monkey - it was so cute. I took video of it; I'll post that later too since right now I'm posting this from my phone.

Opening presents was fun but after that it seems like everyone turned mean, negative, & spiteful. I sequestered myself to the kitchen doing dishes to stay away from it as best I could. My sister's boyfriend's kids were there & I think they're 7 years old & my niece was there & she's 2 1/2 years old. I really don't like kids that much. I especially don't like kids at my parents' house because there isn't a separate space for adults & for children. Everyone is jammed into one space & it sucks. There's little privacy to be found.

Audrey wanted to get out of the house for a little bit (justifiably so, I totally understood that) but my siblings criticized her & my parents don't understand how overwhelming it was in the house. I was 5 minutes away from telling her she & I will go out because I was at my threshold.

We decided to leave last night around 7pm. There was no reason to hang around & let the bad feelings fester. Besides, we were just going to sit around at mom & dad's house until bedtime then drive home in the morning. A waste of half a Sunday. We left the house at 50* while we were gone & holy crap it was SO cold in the house. The cats had puked a little bit but it was easily cleaned up. Our bed was FREEZING and the cats piled up on us during the night to keep us/themselves warm.

Today we have to go to WalMart for some groceries & to return something. We received our Cook's County Cook Book in the mail over the weekend & I got some cook books from Amelia for Christmas so we're excited to try some new recipes. Right now it's pajamas, coffee, and Craig Ferguson.
