Of the all late night TV shows to watch, Ben and I prefer The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson over a the rest. He is genuinely funny & doesn’t seem scripted hardly ever which we really like (I loathe hearing “Hey, did you hear about this? Did you hear this?” Or “How about those/that ___, huh?” where they’re spouting off lame scripted joke after lame scripted joke). Craig is lovable & quirkly with just the right amount of grumpy old man mixed in. Anyway, Craig usually pokes fun at the internet like the FaceTube and the YouBook and ‘the Twitter’. Imagine how excited I was when Craig joined Twitter (@Craigyferg)! I followed him as soon as I found out. Shortly after that I followed a link to some of the stand-up events he has scheduled across the nation. I told Ben and my siblings Angela & Tony, who are also Craig fans (fans are now lovingly referred to as being in the ‘Robot Skeleton Army’ by Craig), about the show at the State Theatre in Minneapolis scheduled for 7:30pm on April 30th. We agreed it would be AWESOME to go and that we should get tickets when they went on sale March 12th.Angela said she would be in the cities for a meeting on that day so she would stop at the ticket office at the theatre and get us all tickets. Unfortunately, she got lost in the city for an hour that afternoon and arrived at the ticket office at 3:25pm only to find out that the show had been sold out. Bummer! I guess there had been a line when the office opened at 10am that morning (Craig is more popular than I realized!). Angela told me that the guy at the ticket counter told her to hang around because they were checking to see if he would add a second show at 10:00pm that same day. A little while later Angela was able to buy tickets for the 10pm show! Apparently they had just opened the second show offering so Angela was able to get tickets for 2nd row pit seats. How exciting is that?! I’m super pumped! What a great turn of events after all the crappy car & appliance problems we’ve had over the last month. Happy Birthday TO ME!
To illustrate the awesomeness, here is an example of where the seats are located (Pit L or Pit R; not sure which side our tickets are). Right freakin’ up front! Ben and I haven’t been to a comedy stand-up show before so this will be fun. What better way to break us in than seeing Craig live?
We are going to find somewhere in Minneapolis to stop for food & drinks before the show and Ang, Ben & I might chip in to rent a hotel room for the night so we don’t try to drive back to Mankato at 12-1am or something.
